Amigos de la Cruz

APERCH / Amigos de La Cruz invites you to participate in the “Pre-Rainy Season Concrete Arroyo Clean-Up” on Saturday May 21st at 9:00 – 11:00 AM. The “Concrete Arroyo” is actually the cement culvert that runs alongside Calle Piña in Colonia Los Mangos in La Cruz de Huanacaxtle. This culvert is a main drainage route from the foothills to the bay, so it is crucial to remove litter and trash before the rains come to prevent this refuse from reaching the Bahia.

Amigos Shirley & Bill McGrath will spearhead the activities and ask that volunteers meet at the corner of the main Punta Mita highway lateral and Calle Piña (which is the continuation of Calle Atún on the mountain side of the highway) next to EL PROFE tienda/grocery store. For those coming from out of town, take the main exit off highway 200 into La Cruz (exit sign for Marina Riviera Nayarit & Punta de Mita) and proceed towards town to the second topes (speed bumps) and turn right. Along with area and local volunteers, students from La Cruz schools will also be participating in this important event. Visitors to the area are encouraged to pitch in and help maintain the the beautiful ambiance of La Cruz de Huanacaxtle, a diamond in the Riviera Nayarit’s crown.
