The last South Side Shuffle signals us the “end” of yet another season in Puerto Vallarta.

However, it´s not over until the fat lady sings. There a plenty of things to do still in the next couple of weeks.

On April 12th, the Encuentro Internacional de Poetas y el Arte ( Poet and Art Event) kicks off at 11am on the Malecón. The diverse program is held at a number of easily accessible locations throughout Puerto Vallarta and has its finale at Los Mangos Library with a showing of “Night of the Iguana”. The movie that put Vallarta into the international spotlight.

On April 16th R.I.S.E holds its final brunch for this season and already in process is the Futures Tour in Nuevo Vallarta.

But is it really an end? To some, those brave enough to endure the hot, humid summers and torrential downpours in September and the Mexican Vacation Season, it simply means shifting gears.
Puerto Vallarta, as some of you may already know, has tourism throughout the year. The only 2 months where one really notices the difference, is the latter part of May into mid-June and again in September, when school starts.
The city really has undergone a tremendous change in the last few years. Those of you thinking of relocating to this beautiful city will find Puerto Vallarta a haven of opportunity, growth always implies the need for more specialized services.

The demographics are not what they used to be only 5 years ago. For the entrepreneurial spirited and gifted person, Vallarta is a great place to start a wonderful and rewarding new life.
For some reason, this is the time of year when get I sentimental. I seem to appreciate even more so the opportunity of being able to live in this remarkable place, perhaps because so many friends are departing until Fall, I feel so lucky that I am able to remain here.

“Progress is not an illusion, it happens, but it is slow and invariably disappointing.”
