Sunday is a day of rest
The beginning of the week
And the forecast is the usual
The opposite of bleak
Monday is just beautiful
And the rhythm very nice
With the overburdened refrigerator
Replenishing the ice
Tuesday thought we saw a cloud
Approaching from the west
But it was just a flock of pelicans
Returning home to nest
Wednesday gave me quite a start
Thought I saw a crimson sky
Till the little drops from the medicine chest
Took the red out of my eye
Thursday met the weatherman
Just relaxing on the sand
Complains he’s little else to do
Than to improve upon his tan
Friday night the lights are bright
And the balmy breezes blow
The tequila served up different ways
And the faces all aglow
Saturday arrives too quick
And the week is ending soon
Somewhat shortened by last evening’s fun
When you’re sleeping in till noon
The hot sun and the sandy beach
Then the palm trees form a glade
And we find things cool a little bit
If you relax beneath the shade
We asked our local waiter friend
Just when he might expect some rain
And shook his head affirmative
Yes in July she comes again
